Solving EV Charging Space Management Challenges|Comprehensive Upgrade to Smart EV Parking Management!
As the world faces urgent threats such as global warming, extreme weather, and rising sea levels, achieving energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and carbon neutrality has become a top priority for governments worldwide. This global movement has accelerated the growth of the electric vehicle (EV) industry. However, the deployment of EV charging infrastructure significantly lags behind the rapid increase in EV adoption—leading to three major parking management challenges at EV charging stations.

Non-EV Vehicles Occupying Charging Spaces
When non-EV vehicles occupy EV charging spots, it decreases operational efficiency and prolongs return on investment for infrastructure owners.

Parking Without Charging
Some EV drivers park but do not initiate charging, preventing others in urgent need from accessing the service.

Extended Parking After Charging is Complete
Vehicles remain parked long after charging completes, leading to equipment idling and wasted social resources—undermining environmental benefits.

Smart EV Parking Management Scenarios
To effectively manage EV chargers and parking spaces, Tienlin Technology has introduced a smart charging space management solution that achieves a win-win outcome for property owners, vehicle users, and societal resources.
Scenario 1: Standard EV Charging and Parking Procedure
① The system identifies the vehicle as an EV and opens the mini parking barrier.
② After the EV parks and exceeds the 5-minute grace period, the barrier automatically lowers to secure the space, entering the active charging state.

③ Once charging is complete, the driver scans a QR code via smartphone to pay. Upon successful payment, the system opens the barrier and uses broadcast and LED signage to notify the driver to leave promptly.

Scenario 2: EV Does Not Leave After Charging Is Complete
① As the vehicle approaches, the system identifies it as a non-EV.
② If verified as EV, the system opens the mini barrier. After a 5-minute grace period, the barrier lowers to lock the spot.

③ After payment, the barrier opens and the driver is notified to leave. If the vehicle remains 10+ minutes post-charging, the barrier lowers again and overtime charges begin.

④ The driver must scan the QR code again and pay the overtime fee; the system will then unlock the barrier.

Scenario 3: EV Parks Without Charging
① Upon approach, the system verifies it as an EV and opens the barrier.
② After the grace period, the barrier lowers to secure the spot.

③ If no charging session starts, the system begins standard parking fee billing.
④ Driver pays via QR code, and the system unlocks the barrier with broadcast/LED reminder.

Scenario 4: Non-EV Occupies Charging Spot
① As the vehicle approaches, the system identifies it as a non-EV.
② The system issues warnings via speaker, flashing light, and display: “Non-EV: Do Not Park.”
③ If the driver ignores the alert and parks over 5 minutes, the barrier locks and charges begin.

④ The driver must pay via QR code; after payment, the system opens the barrier and issues a departure reminder.

Scenario 1: Normal EV Parking and Charging
① After license plate recognition, the LED display welcomes the EV.
② As the EV approaches the charging space, the LED sign displays “Welcome to Charge”.

③ Upon entering the license plate number at the kiosk, the system shows combined standard and EV space rates.
④ After payment, the exit barrier opens automatically upon license plate recognition.

Scenario 2: EV Remains After Charging Completes
① After license plate recognition, the LED display welcomes the EV.
② As the EV approaches the charging space, the LED sign displays “Welcome to Charge”.

③ If the EV remains post-charging, the system applies a higher EV space rate.
④ After entering the plate and completing payment, the system calculates parking fees based on the charging parking rate.
⑤ The exit barrier opens upon successful license plate recognition post-payment.

Scenario 3: EV Parks in Charging Space Without Charging
① After license plate recognition, the LED display welcomes the EV.
② As the EV approaches the charging space, the LED sign displays “Welcome to Charge”.

③ If charging is not initiated, parking is still billed at the EV rate.
④ After entering the plate and completing payment, the system calculates parking fees based on the charging parking rate.
⑤ The exit barrier opens upon successful license plate recognition post-payment.

Scenario 4: Non-EV Parks in Charging Space
① Non-EV license plate is recognized and allowed entry.
② As it nears the charging space, the LED displays “Non-EV: Do Not Park”.

③ If parked, a higher EV space rate is applied.
④ The driver pays at the kiosk, the system calculates parking fees based on the charging parking rate.
⑤ The exit barrier opens upon successful license plate recognition post-payment.

System Highlights|Smart EV Charging Space Management Solution
A one-stop intelligent EV parking management system that integrates charging bay control, automated payment, and unmanned operation—designed to maximize usage efficiency and optimize user experience.
✅ Intelligent EV Charging Bay Control
Using license plate recognition (LPR) and real-time power current detection, the system accurately determines both parking and charging status. In cases of misuse—such as non-charging EVs, prolonged occupation after charging, or non-EV vehicles occupying charging bays—the system will activate the barrier to lock the bay and enforce billing based on EV space rates. Exit is only allowed after successful payment.
✅ Mobile Payment Integration
Supports both mobile payment and on-site auto-payment kiosks. Flexible configuration enables operators to tailor payment options to different environments, improving user convenience and operational efficiency.
✅ Dual-Space Monitoring Design
A single camera can monitor two charging bays simultaneously, reducing hardware installation costs and improving space utilization.
✅ Fully Automated Unmanned Management
The system integrates LPR cameras, current detection modules, space-locking barriers, and entry/exit gates. Combined with self-service kiosks and mobile payments, this ensures 24/7 unattended operation for smart EV parking lots.
✅ EV Space Reservation Function
Supports online EV charging bay reservation, allowing users to secure a spot in advance—improving service satisfaction and increasing turnover rate.
✅ Real-Time Multi-Channel Alerts
While parking, the system keeps users informed with dynamic LED displays, voice alerts, and flashing lights.
✅ Reduced Parking Dispute Risk
Barriers are installed in front of each charging bay, clearly indicating space availability. Unlike ground locks, this design minimizes risk of mechanical error and prevents potential vehicle damage or user disputes.
✅ Remote Barrier Control
Remote control functionality allows administrators to open or close barriers in real time, enabling quick response to incidents without requiring on-site personnel.
