Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Deploys I-View’s Smart Vehicle Access Control System
for Automated Smart Logistics

Project Background | Logistics Challenges in the Era of Smart Manufacturing

As Taiwan’s first PET bottle manufacturer, Shinkong Synthetic Fibers manages high daily traffic of container trucks and raw-material vehicles. Manual vehicle registration, weighing, and document verification were time-consuming and prone to human errors and data inconsistencies.

In the process of transforming into a smart manufacturing factory, Shinkong Synthetic Fibers faces four key challenges in vehicle access and logistics management:

1.Lack of Vehicle Access Automation Causing Traffic Congestion

The factory’s entry and exit relied entirely on manual verification, requiring guards to check vehicle information one by one. When multiple container trucks arrived simultaneously, the process often caused traffic queues extending to nearby roads, disrupting local traffic and leading to complaints. Therefore, establishing an automated access control mechanism to enable faster and more accurate vehicle clearance became a top priority.

2.Container-to-vehicle matching was slow and error-prone.

Each container code consists of 11 alphanumeric characters that must correspond precisely to the associated vehicle license plate. Manual matching was time-consuming and prone to human error. Shinkong needed an intelligent system capable of simultaneously recognizing both the license plate (LPR) and the container code (ACNR) to automatically verify data consistency.

3.Cargo weight verification and vehicle compliance were unreliable.

Since most materials transported were bulk commodities, even a few hundred kilograms of weight difference could go unnoticed through manual checking. It was therefore essential to implement an AI-enabled weighbridge integration system that could automatically compare real-time weight data with ERP order information, while also verifying whether each vehicle was officially authorized to operate within the factory premises.

4.No unified and traceable logistics data chain.

Existing systems could not interconnect information from cargo, vehicles, containers, and time records. Shinkong required a comprehensive, traceable, and data-driven logistics management platform capable of automatically recording and cross-verifying all logistics activities to ensure operational transparency and compliance.

To enhance efficiency, Shinkong deployed I-View’s ParkGuide® Smart Parking & Weighbridge Integration System, leveraging AI vision recognition, IoT sensors, and ERP cloud integration to automate vehicle verification, container inspection, and weight auditing — setting a new benchmark for smart factory logistics.

I-View’s custom-built Smart Vehicle Access Control System integrates three core AI modules:

A. System Integration Architecture | AI Recognition × ERP Connectivity × Automated Auditing

  • AI License Plate Recognition(LPR):Instantly recognizes vehicle license plates, cross-checks them with the ERP authorization list, and automates barrier gate control for approved vehicles.
  • Automatic Container Number Recognition(ACNR):Accurately reads ISO6346 container codes and ensures that each container matches the correct vehicle record.
  • Weighbridge Integration System:Automatically captures real-time cargo weight and uploads it to the ERP system for cross-verification, eliminating manual data entry errors.

Together, these modules communicate via the ParkDB® central server, forming an end-to-end intelligent data chain covering vehicle entry, weighing, and exit — achieving fully automated auditing.

B. On-site Guidance and Intelligent Notifications

After the truck enters the factory, the entrance display board immediately shows guidance messages, directing the driver to the designated weighbridge area. Once weighing is completed, the system automatically displays the message ‘Weighing completed, please exit,’ helping vehicles leave quickly and ensuring smooth traffic flow.

C. Automated Entry and Exception Control Mechanism

When a scheduled vehicle arrives, the system instantly performs AI recognition and ERP verification:

  • If approved, the barrier opens automatically for unmanned entry.
  • If not listed, security can register the plate, and ERP updates in real-time.

Upon weighing, the system verifies license plate, container code, and cargo weight simultaneously. If all data matches, the vehicle exits automatically; if discrepancies occur, it is locked for manual verification — ensuring logistics safety and data accuracy.

D. Data Integration and Operational Benefits

All recognition results, weighing data, and alerts are stored in the ParkDB® server for:

  • ERP shipment & accounting reconciliation
  • Traffic flow analytics & route optimization
  • Real-time reporting & alert generation
  • ISO & ESG compliance recordkeeping

Results and Management Advantages

After deployment, Shinkong achieved a highly efficient, low-labor logistics operation:

  • 🚚 Vehicle throughput +40%
  • 🔍 Audit accuracy up to 99%
  • 🧑‍💻 Over 50% manpower reduction
  • ⚙️ Complete traceability with timestamp & video proof
  • 📊 Real-time dashboard for management insight
  • 🛡️ Auto-lock on anomalies for secure control

Shinkong’s collaboration with I-View marks a key step toward zero-error, fully digitalized logistics through AI recognition, ERP integration, and automated validation.
This transformation eliminates manual bottlenecks, enhances audit precision, and provides a model for next-generation smart factory logistics management.

Q1: How does the smart vehicle access control system improve shipping efficiency?
A: By using AI license plate recognition and real-time comparison with the ERP-approved list, vehicles can be automatically released, reducing average clearance time by 40%.

Q2: How is container code and license plate matching accomplished?
A: The system simultaneously recognizes container codes and license plates, then automatically cross-checks with ERP data to ensure correct correspondence between containers and vehicles.

Q3: How can abnormal weights or data falsification be prevented?
A: Weighbridge data is automatically uploaded and compared with task orders. If weight or data anomalies are detected, the system automatically locks the vehicle for manual inspection.

Q4: Can the system be integrated with other systems or modules?
A: Yes, it can seamlessly integrate with existing access control, surveillance, ERP, and ESG management systems, forming a complete intelligent logistics information chain.
